William D. Berry is a Birmingham native, licensed to practice in Alabama state courts and all three federal district courts in the state, whose work has centered on water law and environmental regulation for nearly a decade. He holds an LL.M. in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School and a Master of Public Administration with a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Having formerly served as an adjunct professor at Birmingham School of Law for three terms teaching Environmental Law and previously serving as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama, he left active litigation in 2022 to pursue the MPA and a corresponding shift toward public administration and nonprofit work. Along with serving on AEC’s Board of Directors, he regularly volunteers with Tennessee Riverkeepers and tabling events to help raise awareness to the necessity for water conservation. Environmental rights are human rights.
